Photo Collective
If I could tell the story in words,
I wouldn't need to lug around a camera.  ~Lewis Hine

About The Photo Collective

The Photo Collective is a group of photographers of varying levels of expertise and training.  The group was founded in the early 1980s and its members are located in Stanislaus County, California and neighboring areas.  Many of the original members were students and teaching assistants in Modesto Junior College's photography courses.  The group is self-funding and open to all who are interested in enhancing their photographic skill and knowledge.  The purpose of the group is to promote photography as an art form.  In pursuit of this goal, the members work together to organize photographic exhibits, workshops, and seminars within the community.

In addition to the work the Photo Collective does within the local photographic community members also enjoy getting out and photographing together during organized photography trips and learning from one another during print reviews and programs during our monthly meetings.
